Terms of Service

Last updated: July 5, 2026 · Plain language on purpose.

These terms cover the hosted services operated by Solo Systems: the jcode subscription API, telemetry, and sponsored discovery. They do not govern the jcode software itself, which is free and open source under the MIT License. You can use jcode with your own API keys forever without touching any of our servers or agreeing to anything here beyond the MIT license.

1. The services

2. Acceptable use

Don't abuse the services: no attempts to circumvent metering, rate limits, or authentication, no resale of subscription access, no using the services to break the law, and no deliberately degrading them for others. We may suspend or revoke access to the hosted services to protect them or other users.

3. Accounts and billing

Subscriptions are billed through Stripe and can be cancelled anytime; access runs to the end of the paid period. API keys are yours to keep secret; anything done with your key counts as you. We may change pricing with notice on the pricing page before your next billing cycle.

4. Sponsored discovery

Sponsors buy placement (discoverability), never recommendations. Listings are public and auditable, discovery is off by default in jcode, and every use is disclosed in the UI. The full policy at /sponsored-discovery is part of these terms. If we ever fail to meet it, that's a bug: report it and we'll fix it.

5. No warranty, limited liability

The hosted services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and we don't guarantee uptime. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Solo Systems' total liability arising out of the hosted services is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

6. Your content and data

Requests you send through the subscription API are forwarded to the upstream model provider to serve your request and metered for billing. We don't claim ownership of anything you send or generate. Data handling details live in the privacy policy.

7. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes are announced on this page with an updated date, and continued use of the hosted services after that constitutes acceptance. The page history is in the public website repository.
